In and around Bicheno there are several experiences for visitors which will delight as well as surprise you.

East Coast Natureworld. Tasmania’s premier natural ecology and wildlife park is located on the northern side of the town and offers an opportunity to see and interact with the diverse fauna of the region, notably the Tasmanian Devil.

Diamond Island Nature Reserve. Just off the coast to the north of Bicheno, the island is home to large numbers of fairy penguins. Bicheno Penguin Tours allows you to view these remarkable birds in their own environment.

Douglas Apsley National Park. Just 15 minutes north of Bicheno, this park provides a snapshot of East Coast forest species. Take an easy walk through the gorge leading to the Apsley Waterhole.

Bicheno Golf Club. Five minutes north of Bicheno, the flat but challenging 9-hole course is located adjacent to the beach and surrounded by beautiful native trees. It has been established for 40 years.

Opportunities exist for fishing, diving and tennis. See the Bicheno Dive Centre.

Rocking Rock & Blow Hole. To the south of the town the Rocking Rock (a huge 80 tonne piece of granite balanced so that it rocks with the movement of the tide) and the local blowhole can be seen.

Grave of Waubedebar (after whom Waub’s Harbour was named) is located near the tennis courts. Waubedebar, an Aboriginal woman saved two white men when their boat was smashed against the rocks during a storm.

Bicheno Gallery located in the centre of town, is one of Tasmania’s premier art and craft galleries.
